How important is it for you to make physical contact when showing affection for someone?

It’s not important to me. I am not a touchy person in general. I enjoy it, but only if I am close to and have affection for the person and I know they want me to touch them.
I have a lot of affection for both my sister and my niece, but I would never hug my sister because she’s never given any indication she wants me to, while I hug my niece every time I see her because I know she wants a hug

I "read the room". Some of my friends want to hug every time they see me, and some don't want to be touched...probably because they are in pain.

Personally, I enjoy hugging, but I would much rather hug a male friend than a female friend, and for one of those LONG hugs...definitely has to be a male.

in my teen age I feel that it was a symbol of total surrendered and trust for him by my side so he can feel about the true emotion of my side but now I feel it's nothing really but a hormonal reaction

It depends on who that someone is if it's one of my brothers not so much. If it is a female or a perspective relationship a lot more important. But I will say when it comes to real friendship or especially potential relationships if it does not have any sort of real world impact then after a while not interested

It´s nice but it´s not essential. You can show affection in many ways that do not involve physical contact.
