Easy to debunk the story of Adam and Eve

The story of Adam and Eve is very easily debunked. Consider the following. If God is perfect and has always been perfect. And has never had the freedom of choice to be perfect or imperfect. Then why did God make Adam and Eve imperfect and give them the freedom of choice? Why didn't God make Adam and Eve perfect like himself? Making them imperfect and giving them the freedom of choice is not necessary. To create beings to suffer is evil.

And I recently read something that really made a lightbulb go off in me. If God forgives anyone or anything, why didn't he forgive the Sin he created us to have..(instead of killing his son Jesus )? 🙁 I truly grew up religious but things in my life plus ideas like this make me really wonder about religion.
James25 · 61-69, M
@Coralmist yes I agree
emiliya · 22-25, F
God is whole. This is what it says in the Tanakh, the Old Testament. If he had not given Adam and Eve free will, he would be a dictator. Suffering is necessary.

What is good without evil? Does it mean anything when there is no evil?
@emiliya He gave us free will.
Pfuzylogic · M
@emiliya In Genesis, when God created the Universe, he stated after “It is good”.
Look at Genesis 1:4 after the creation of light, Genesis 1:10 after the separation of the water from the firmaments, Genesis 10:12 yielding of seed and so on through out Genesis dealing with creation.
There was no dependency on evil.
Pfuzylogic · M
Adam was made in the image of God.
Sounds perfect to me.
Eve was taken out of Adam.
I do buy the story 💯
James25 · 61-69, M
@Pfuzylogic illogical statement your argument is a logical fallacy
Pfuzylogic · M
@James25 illogical response, you have no basis to state your claim!
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
The concept of Adam and eve is less wild. Even evolutionarily there was a first "man". Though in truth there was a series of many firsts with each mutation that brought us to this point in our evolution.

As such, a shared heritage among humanity is a truth to arise out of the fictional story if our current understandings of biological evolution are anywhere near correct.

There just wasn't any magical figure crafting a man from the earth and pulling out his rib.
James25 · 61-69, M
@ViciDraco I would have to disagree
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
Well the Truth is “God” in the creation story is “Elohim” these are the Ancient Nature Spirits that Created the Image of Man.

These are understood as Natures of the Mind of God… Rulers.Archons.

The one thing they Couldn’t do was Animate Adam. It was the Spirit which is the Most High.
Maybe God isnt perfect.
Maybe god needs the perspective of imperfect limited beings to become better him/her/themselves?

Perhaps even god evolves🤷‍♀
James25 · 61-69, M
@OogieBoogie if that is true then this so-called God is not in a position to judge anyone
@James25 who really knows ?🤷‍♀
Free will
No one is perfect
We can make all of our own choices
James25 · 61-69, M
@rocknroll yes no one is perfect nor is this so-called God
@James25 correct and god never claimed to be
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@rocknroll well God says or the Bible says he is omniscient and omnipotent..which is perfect essentially..??

I doubt it's intended to be taken literaly. It's just instructive fiction.
HobNoblin · 36-40, M
@James25 I think it's to point out and explain truths in the world around us. I don't think there were litteral talking snakes. It's a story to illustrate something.
James25 · 61-69, M
@HobNoblin but what exactly is it trying to illustrate?
HobNoblin · 36-40, M
@James25 I would say simple facts of life. The book of Proverbs for instance is very instructive. Eclesiastics then almost seems to refute everything. It tells you all is vanity. The entire book is written in a way to make you think which is healthy and good for you.
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
Such a human perspective, what makes you so sure you are a being that actually suffers
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
@James25 You've decided that's real because you think your observations are real why?
James25 · 61-69, M
@Jackaloftheazuresand I have no idea what you're talking about. You will have to explain yourself more clearly.
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
@James25 You said to look around, so why do you trust that your senses are providing an accurate portrayal of reality?

people who question creation fail to realize the absurdity of the alternative...

that you "evolved" from dirt in a universe that big banged/exploded from nothing...🤔
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
@James25 evolution, big bang, etc. requires a linear timeline; God is non-linear, there is no present, past, or future for Him, it's all one and the same for Him.

The universe did not come from nothing but was created from something else

where did this "something else" come from? 🤔
James25 · 61-69, M
@wildbill83 Something comes from something else infinitely into the past just as something becomes something else infinitely into the future
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
@James25
science, particularly physics, often encounters difficulties when dealing with the concept of infinity because it can lead to paradoxical situations and mathematical inconsistencies when trying to apply it to real-world phenomena
