Have you ever tried or practised witch craft as a religion? What are your thoughts on it?

My son became involved with it one year while working at King Richard's Faire. I was so upset by that, that I decided I HAD to learn about it before I "adjudicated" the issue with my son. I found a series of books on Wicca by Scott Cunningham, and read all of them. I also got online and interviewed some women who were involved in it.

My decision was: Wicca is a revived "old" religion. It is pagan. It involves rituals which are concerned with the passing of the seasons. It is NOT evil, in and of itself, but it is NOT Christian. The so called "spells" used by members of this religion are similar, IMO, to prayers. Good or evil in Wicca is rewarded and/or punished by the rule of three. Everything you do in Wicca is magnified and sent back to you three times three, according to practitioners.

I needn't have worried. By the time I finished researching it, my son had lost interest. It was a teenage fad with him.

That's a sure way to miss heaven. Bible verses warn against it.

Incantations? Making certain sounds with your vocal cords that are basically gibberish? Prayer is spell casting and equally ineffective.
