How many of us are either lonely or not happy with our partners?

Eternity · 26-30, M Best Comment
People get to caught up on happiness. Happiness isnt the point of life.

Your brain can only secrete so much of that happy hormone before it peters out and your happiness turns to apathy you know.

If your relationship isnt rooted in more solid things like mutual goals, self improvement, exploration, having an impact, etc, then it is doomed to failure.

Happy dont pay the bills nor does it change the world.

If happy is all you want then you'd be better off just hooking up for life.

@Eternity i try but I've never met a guy i can hook up with him without starting problems.

This is hard for me to answer. 🤔

I do love my fiance, and for the most part he still makes me laugh and interests me, and we have a good relationship.

On the other hand, we've been stuck living with his parents for 2 years and it has been HELL on our relationship. We have had more fights since living here, and the romance has pretty well died. I think at this point, we are both hanging on because of the chance of our relationship improving when we finally leave here.

@DearAmbellina2113 that sounds rough. Good luck.

@DearAmbellina2113 sounds like the passion needs to be brought back alive.

I haven’t really experienced that . I was severely abused by a man as a child ... and didn’t have good experiences around guys my own age when I was willing to go on a date ... so I backed away and immersed myself in school and then work after I graduated . But when my Mr. Right walked into my life and ultimately married me .., I have been completely happy . My life is better with him in it

@TexChik I hope the thoughts are far between and get further each day
TexChik · F
@Jlhzfromep unfortunately no . Every 3-4 days I have a nightmare . Just part of the process

I’m really happy in my relationship and with my partner atm. The happiest I’ve been in a long time. Soooo hopefully it stays that way.

I don't have a partner. And I'm not really lonely. I could get someone pretty easily if I were.
Rokasu · 36-40, M
I don't know about y'all but I'm pretty happy with myself.

I don't have a partner and with all honesty yes I'm a bit sad because of what my ex did BUT I am happy that I don't have deal with that piece of shit anymore.

I'm happy to be free from the pain and do whatever the fuck I want.
ButterRobot · 51-55, M
Probably most of us. But no relationship is perfect and SW is a good place to vent. I think it’s representative of the population at large.
Rambler · M
That answer will often come down to what your expectations were, or are now, versus what real life allows.

I'm lonely but I also don't have a partner, and pretty much never have had one. lol
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
My bills get paid so I’m happy. I don’t want bad credit.

I’d say the vast majority.
I'm lonely, but wouldn't be if I HAD a partner.
