There are men with money who will pay for the illusion of willing company. That may or may not involve sex or sexual acts. It is born of loneliness, the wielding of artificial power, or both on the part of the male. For the female, it's a form of prostitution but with a regular client and perhaps a level of exclusivity.

@SW-User sugar daddy or sugar dating is one of many ways to escape loneliness nowadays. i don't understand how people are still lonely despite being glued to their smartphones. i rarely see people smile, greet at each other, they're much busier with phones but at the end of the day, there are still bunch of them claiming to be lonely and opting for all kind of funny relationships.

Here is a few I can think of:
Keeping secrets – mostly you will want to keep the fact you are a sugar baby from friends and family.
Mostly it’s going to preclude or make it difficult to have any other relationships, e.g., a boyfriend.
Then there is the loss of time control, as in he is paying you to be with him when he wants it.
Eventually, possibly despising him or yourself for the whole thing.
Could be that you catch feelings for the man and he is taken.

@Ontheroad thank you for this comment as this has made me think more about it . He doesn’t want nudes or sex - just my time … I wouldn’t normally want money for friendship . I feel that does devalue who I am but I am in debt and need that gone … once that was done - I wouldn’t even want any more money after that - it’s just not who I am ! I’d probably pay the person back !! It’s the interest on my debts that’s so bad ! I just want them done !

@kaykay22 I would vet the hell out of him... seriously check him out 100%. Demand absolute discretion. Have boundaries, absolute boundaries and don't let him have any personal information, banking information, etc. Do not under any circumstance let him into your life. Keep it a business deal.
I don't think it devalues you as a person, not at all. It's a straightforward business deal. You have the commodity, he has the money... it's that simple, but yeah, it might get hard to deal with. I get that.
