Its alive and well, with older folks and properly raised teens. Its how my husband got me...we dated a long time (seemed like a whirlwind to me) and then he proposed after going to see my parents and get their permission. My husband was raised old school! Today's kids don't want to work for anything , including love and making sure they have chosen well. Divorce attorneys will be making a killing in the newest generation.

Who wants to give her father a goat for permission to date her though? 🤷‍♂

Out the door with controlling religion. Which many finally recognized as the problem. Which is why Trump wants to bring back religion into politics.

Organized Religion is about control.

Well if decide to date online then it does not

In my mind and world it still exists.

But in this modern world it seems to be a hook up, instant gratification, no depth situationship.

It died out because most people didn't like it. They were just afraid to not keep it up because of social pressure.
