Nothing wrong with it. It is not weird or creepy.
I have been with guys much older then me all my life, even more then 20 years.
Some will always frown upon it, but they are the ones that frown upon everything anyway.

I don't know what may be considered normal, but this is just me. I wouldn't want to be with someone that was the same age as my children. On the other hand, if I never had children and met someone 20 years younger it would probably be a lot different.

I know from people expressing their opinion that it is really looked down upon in the Western World.
Having said that, I will also say that 20, and even 30 year age gaps are quite common in SE Asian areas, and I saw it all the time when I lived there. It was once explained to me that it takes many years for a male to become financially sound there.... as in: enough to buy a house and lot and start a family. Basically she wants to see/have financial stability....

It depends on the society that you are living in. As a 45 year old man, I would find it socially uncomfortable being with a 20-something woman, despite being attracted to this age bracket. I am in a conservative society (by choice), and I need to adapt.
Also, the generational gap has different ideas, the modern "youngsters" are glued to their phones, while the older generation not so much.

@Lanyx i find conservative societies are usually more accepting of age gaps
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
Most people think 5 yrs difference is about the normal acceptable limit , though I'd go for 10 years difference. Both my exes are 7 yrs younger than me. I've never dated a woman older than me since I've never found any interested. I don't chase younger women (like much younger) as that's a bit creepy.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
[@zonavar68 i think it depends on ur culture
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
@Mountainlady16 True. I would consider up to 10 yrs difference but not sure I'd be acceptable to any women 10 yrs older than me (around 65) and not sure women 10 yrs younger (around 45) would see me as a valid partner.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@zonavar68 i know couples with 15 or more years different my mom and stepdad are 12 years apart my stepdad being younger
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
it was at one time and still is in some places in my culture its more common for the man to be older than it is for a couple to be closer in age. my and my husbands age difference of just 13 months is very unusual. my moms is even weirder though its cause shes in her 2nd marriage her husband my stepdad is 6 years her jr and only 11 years older than me.

Much depends on the ages of the two people in the relationship. If one is in their teens and the other 20 years older, then it's going to be seen as weird or creepy.
On the other hand, if one is in their 30s or 40s and the other is 20 years older, then it doesn't seem so out of place/weird.

bert199 · 51-55, M
I love the age gap. Yeah people question it. Because it’s just not as common. But at some point, one stops caring what people think And just decide to do what makes them happy
Torpedocat99 · 46-50, MVIP
It should be normal. It has been in the past, and is in other cultures. We just happen to have a ridiculous notion of what is “proper” in our culture.
Strict4u · 56-60, M
It’s more normal then you think I know a few couples with a age difference and they are very happy together
RedBaron · M
These things are individual decisions.
What does normal mean anyway?

It depends on both partners how connected they feel.

Some will always be accepting, others will be frowned upon
darkmere1983 · 46-50, M
no, it shouldn't be, it is very weird and creepy.

I think they already are normalised tbh
Tracos · 51-55, M
It's normalized for rich people, so it should be
BlueRain · 51-55, F
My husband is 15 years older than me.
