I miss having a partner tbh

Living life alone, moving here and there...what a beautiful story and life I have, and I have no complaints! I'm growing stronger, wiser, calmer... But living life without the joy of sharing it closely with someone. I'm sharing with people, but the level of closeness of having a partner.

Do you miss having a partner? How is this going for you?

Well, we are human beings after all.
I think it’s innate in our kind to want or desire closeness from another.

I think I made peace with just being by myself or my cats - heh. There are times that my mind wanders of what ifs and whatnot, but at the end of the day, I do not want to sacrifice the peace that I have gained for being alone if I were to trade it just because I want to tell someone about my day etc.

I guess I haven’t find the person I “click” with - in all aspects of relationship.

@stayfickle actually, cats are great! If I had one perhaps...but traveling and moving I cannot take a cat . do you have a picture of her?
stayfickle · 26-30New
@Boeing
These are my cats and I take them with me (for vacations and stuff)

I'm glad I have my sons for occasional company. I wouldn't want to have another permanent live in partner, did that for forty years and I don't think I'm suited to it any more.
Boeing · 36-40
@ninalanyon your sons are great to have around! someone to appreciate your baking and cooking efforts!

Me too, I miss having someone so close to me, someone that cared so much for me. Sometimes I feel like maybe I miss him and not the part of being a lone, not sure tho. I think I just miss my best friend … he was everything to me. Didn’t realize it until he passed.
Boeing · 36-40
@ToSirwithLove oh sorry to hear about your best friend... Life 🌸

let's see what is to come 🩷

Yes, at times, I do miss having a partner. But alone is better then having a non compatible partner. It’s better to wait for a right partner.
Good luck.
Boeing · 36-40
@Nick1 absolutely agree. That's why I am alone. I have grown too picky, my bar is that high I've made it impossible for humans to reach though
Nick1 · 61-69, M
@Boeing It’s all about compatibility. There is no bar high for a right person. Just need to find that person.
Boeing · 36-40
@Nick1 thank you, you are right, that's so true!

Do I miss not having a partner? Of course I do. Am I ready to commit is the real question. Or maybe I feel things are too one sided; it seems a what can I do for them instead of a mutual relationship.
SageWanderer · 70-79, M
@Boeing its probably more companionship for me. I had a forty year relationship with my soul mate so everything is judged by that standard.

And not that I wish to say that every woman is like this however my experience lately involves “honey do lists” or “our” meaning my assets.

Maybe I expected too much too soon. Or my expectations no longer match the reality of the world.
Boeing · 36-40
@SageWanderer yes I see, after having this soul level connection it is now different to start with someone you just met, coming with different stories and expectations...
But don't be too quick to judge, sometimes I think humans can be stressed in the beginning. Of course I don't know the situation....

During the summer I met someone that after years, finally someone ignited in me the wish to commit. But I could see there was a karmic something. I am not sure I like it, actually it made it seem less of a free choice, but I decided, and so what, I will just go on and see. He turned out rejecting me, I think I might have been too much for him, and most probably for the best.
SageWanderer · 70-79, M
@Boeing You have the intuition to know when things are right for you or not. I think you may have intimated him therefore the rejection.
I have mixed feelings about it. The closeness does sound nice, but I also appreciate being able to do my own things all day.
LoneGirl97 · 26-30, F
Trying to gather some hope and faith to bounce back and move to a place or join activities to meet people. I haven’t had someone my whole twenties
Atm i dont miss having a partner. Mind you its only been 5 years.
I love it.
I have peace, everything is where i left it, there's no conflict, and i can walk straight out of the shower to wood heater in the lounge and 'air dry' if i want 😂
Falconbluesky · 56-60, M
@OogieBoogie I’d love to learn more about you.
@Falconbluesky im fabulously boring 😂

Falconbluesky · 56-60, M

BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
I used to enjoy living life alone. But after I experienced what it is like to have a partner, I would get lonely on my own.
Captainjackass · 31-35, M
@BittersweetPotato when’s the wedding?
BittersweetPotato · 31-35, F
@Captainjackass When potato is all grown!
Captainjackass · 31-35, M
@BittersweetPotato when will that be! Your so big already.

@Boeing we didn’t get married until a little later
Boeing · 36-40
@Softy1 yes I'm sorry, each story is so different and always carries side stories that we are not considering. But you know you are not going to move forward living with her. You are blocking yourself.. I'm not judging you, I'm just saying.
Softy1 · M
@Boeing I understand that, my youngest son who is 23 got a late start on life and he wants his mom and dad in the same house for him. My oldest son is 26 and he is a Sgt. in the US Marines.
Falconbluesky · 56-60, M
I hope things are going well for you! May I ask your name?
Boeing · 36-40
@Falconbluesky things are looking up, thank you:) I am discovering new depths of life and having fun, I enjoy the little things, coffee, sun, being creative, the beach, life is good actually.
You can call me airplane 😁 I'm about to ascend and fly
Falconbluesky · 56-60, M
@Boeing I’m so glad to hear that airplane!! I also enjoy coffee.
Falconbluesky · 56-60, M
@Boeing hence the name, Boeing! Do you use any other social media by the way?
QCDog2659 · 61-69, M
I miss, beyond words, having a partner.

No one to hold in bed. No one to laugh with. No one to share meals.
Boeing · 36-40
@QCDog2659 none to save you from the world, because sometimes a hug does that
QCDog2659 · 61-69, M
@Boeing I miss hugs. Sharing so much.
Falconbluesky · 56-60, M
