I was married for 25 years.

I still miss her and today parked outside our very first marital home. We moved here in 1991 after we married. It was kind of soothing. I love to keep her memory alive as she really was my 1 and only ever wife. R.I.P my darling.

So sorry for your loss.
I can relate, I was married for 35 years. Then suddenly, unexpectedly she passed.
It’s almost 10 years ago.
I hope that like me, given time the pain will ease and the good memories become a very strong focus for you.
Best wishes.

@nowic2 Bless you. Im very sorry to hear about your wife. My wife passed September 7th 2016 so nearly the same time as your dear wife. Thank you for your kind words. I do keep strong and like yourself time has eased pain. Beautiful memories live on hence why i stopped to photograph our very first marital home. I still feel pain for our son. I have a daughter too from a previous short term relationship when in my teens. Our son and our then only grandson whos now 19 were the ones i had to protect so i sought EMDR so as to keep strong and desensitise myself eventually. I hope you yourself are doing well sir and i truly wish you the very best in life.

@Perry1968 thank you for your support and encouragement. Our losses were quite close My wife passed 29 July 2016. Sometimes it feels like yesterday, fortunately decreasingly so.
I also lost my younger son in 2022. Sometimes the grief from both combines.
I still it strongly when I see or hear an ambulance with flashing light and siren blaring. I had to perform CPR on my son until the ambulance arrived. Hearing it coming was such a relief. Sadly he did make it.
All that aside, life goes on and as I see it. It’s entirely up to me to make the best of it and be the best I can. I take as many positives as I can from having both in my life. Fortunately the memories are forever.

All the best. I hope you have a lot of happiness ahead of you.

@nowic2 Omg. Mate i cannot express how i feel reading that. 😢 Im really so so sorry. Its all clearly given you post trauma hence fearing the sounds of emergency vehicles. I dont even know you but would give you a hug mate right now as i felt a lump in my throat. I had a grandson pass in 2019 and...well theres no real words to describe that kind of pain. But look please let me just say that you must be a strong person. Youve been through alot of pain. If it ever helps you id happily have a chat. I dont say this to anyone i dont know but id give you my personal phone number if you ever felt the need. Massive hugs to you. Stay as strong as you can. I walk off or cycle my pains away even if its temporary. Everyone needs a coping strategy under such dire and very sad circumstances. Keep pushing forward please and remember that our loved ones wouldnt want us to fall to pieces. We crumble but we have to dig very deep and get back up. Sincere love from one husband and father to another.

I am so sorry for your loss. That is my worst fear. I just pray that i go first because i cannot imagine life without him. I dont even like to think about it. The thought is just too crushing.
Perry1968 · M
@AngelUnforgiven Thank you. Thats very kind. I used to think on those terms but its a strange reality that for whstever reason seems to pull you through. I used to think that way about my parents too. They past when i was young. My brother and a beautiful grandson. All gone but never forgotten. We have 5 grandchildren now. My wife only met 1. Enjoy life day by day as one day we all have to go. Stay strong. Have a love filled heart and i hope you and your husband last for many many years together.

I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine life without my husband. Your pain must be unbearable.
Perry1968 · M
@TexChik 🙂 Thank you. It was initially unbearable and i didnt know how id pull through but here iam 9 years later and for me EMDR therapy and the love i have for my children forced me into this calmer more peaceful mindset. We all crumble from time to time but as i always say. Mentioning those who have gone from our lives keeps the memories we have for them along with their spirits strong. It almost feels like they are still here. Which is a comforting thought.

I’m so sorry for the loss darling
May her soul rest in eternal comfort and peace 🕊❤
Perry1968 · M
@Emilia8577 Thank you. Very kind words. I will always love her. Always. Our beautiful son now 31 looks just like his beautiful mum. Thats lovely as when we speak its like looking into her eyes. They legacy left behind by her. His beautiful brown eyes and his kind heart just like his mum. Before she passed her biggest fear was leaving our son behind. I promised id look after him no matter what and try my best to do so. I probably get on his nerves sometimes 😆 Love runs very deep. Here is my beautiful wife. 25 years of marriage. 30 years together. Totally irreplaceable 🙂

@helenS Honestly. I promise you this is more of a tribute to her rather than being stuck in the past. I love to mention her from time to time as it keeps memories of her alive. Never to be forgotten.
