Why is it so difficult now my peers have children and I’m still single?

My some peers I’ve known since high school either are married/getting married or having children/have children and me……still flying solo. I’m 28 and they don’t wanna do the things we used to. And of course we’re not we’re not teenagers anymore. Do you ever talk about is their kids and help their kids are doing things. I mean I’m very happy for them but I want to have adult fun. But all they want to go it’s like a kids birthday party or kids theme or whatever. I mean I understand that but I want some adult fun with just them but feel like that we’re drifting apart. I’m still single. I mean I’m not ready to have children yet but I’m not rushing into married with children because I’m not ready for that but I want to be able to experience it before I leave this world.

🤷🏻‍♀️ When you have kids it’s very challenging to find time away. Childcare is expensive. You have routines that semi-maintain harmony in your life/minimize stress. Even when you do your own thing your kids are usually on your mind to some extent. You also intentionally rearrange your life to be kid-friendly for their well-being and you do kid-friendly things because that’s the path of least resistance most of the time unless you’re the sort of person who can afford a nanny lol..

I’m actually someone who prefers to only have friends. This means I’m often changing friends because the ones I do get eventually get girlfriends. Many times when your friends get a gf/bf they tend to lose time with their friends. It’s only natural I suppose. Are there exceptions? Of course but those are few. And you don’t have to disappear from their lives just because they got a bf or gf now. It just means they’ll have less time for you. It isn’t out of malice or anything like that. I can understand, I’ve been there.

And actually sometimes after the early stages of their relationship they’ll eventually come back around if you stay in contact even just slightly. Like my older brother barely had time to hang with me when he barely got into his relationship with his gf but after 4-5 years and settling down he suddenly started having more time for his siblings and friends again. Anyways I’m somebody who’s often meeting new people because I’m always moving so it’s natural for me to lose contact with friends. Friends come and go. The cool thing about this is that you can always make new ones no matter where you go.

Autistic person here. From all the relationships I've been in, I'm actually happy about being single. Relationships are fine and all. From experience, relationships are nothing but stress and drama. I rather not be in any unless otherwise. I hope you find happiness in your life.

There comes a time when many people have children and get married. Once you have children your priorities change. Thats normal.
Once people are working when they have a little bit of time left they often want to do things that kids can do with them.
You might need to make some single friends.
Also please think about your time line as well. What age do you want to be married and have kids? Finding the right one can take a long time.
Having kids at later ages can be harder than media leads you to believe so just consider that too.
Some women's advocates are advising now to get you fertility checked around age 30 so you can know how much time you have left.

@REMsleep that’s why I’m saying I don’t want to have kids when I’m 40! Like when you get older don’t be saying the time is ticking or whatever. I have a cousin that’s 37 she’s single with no kids and even her dad and her mom was “Your biological clock is ticking so you may wanna think about finding someone to share your life with. Of course take the time to get to know that person and in the future you can start a family because having kids later it’s gonna be difficult and have a lot of health issues.”
