How can anybody stand living in the country?

First off there is nothing to do except stare at fields of corn all day long. Your neighbors are probably hillbillies who marry their sisters and probably smoke meth. Everyone knows your business, which would seriously get on my last nerve. Did I mention there is no shopping, no nightclubs, no any type of civilization except for the general store and maybe a gas station or two if you are lucky. I would die absolutely shrivel up and die.

Oh, well let us all talk about how damned wonderful it is to live in the city. Horrendous traffic, maniacs using leaf blowers and waking people up, High property taxes, People constantly walking by yakking loudly on their cell phones so you can't even sit on your porch and read, higher crime rate, the air stinks, the city water stinks, local tax rates very high, etc. etc.

I lived in the city for a very long time. It was fucking depressing to say the least. I finally sold my sought after property and moved to the country. Now, I have none of the shit I had while living in the city. I have not seen even one corn field, and we have lots of shopping and plenty of Real civilization. I can actually smell good air and not polluted air.

Yes, you would certainly die out in the country, because you are weak and have no real substance to yourself.🤣

@Xena1234 I'm not an outdoorsy person. I hate gardening, I hate getting dirty, I can't stand all the bugs that land on you. Ugh I used to get eaten alive by mosquitos when we would go camping even with the bug spray on. Life isn't always about being productive it is about enjoying your stay on earth. You might be happy planting trees and going on hikes but that doesn't bring me happiness. Happiness to me is breezing through the mall seeing and feeling all that is happening around me. I enjoy buying new shoes or a new shirt or sitting down somewhere drinking a coffee. To me that is living.

@Addictedtoglamour Sure it is, for now.

@Xena1234 and as for the farmers they chose that path in life or inherited the land or something. They do play an important role in society and I applaud them for it as I could never do it. Waking up at 4am to milk cows? No way. I do most of my eating out at a restaurant except for a few snacks I have back home. Sometimes I'll make something but it usually comes in a box or bag.

Lol. It's better than living in the city.

You’re thinking of the middle of nowhere country. Some parts of the country are nice and have educated civilized people, shopping centers, etc. I’m from the south originally. I would know. I have a boyfriend who isn’t related to me and I am finishing up a bachelors degree in college. But the one thing is, the heat down there might still make you shrivel up and die. You might end up frying like an egg in a pan, right in the middle of the parking lot of one of those shopping centers or malls. 😂

@YoungPoet345 Isn't the country practically the same as the middle of nowhere? I remember the heat and the humidity from my time spent living down in Florida. That was pure hell I don't know why all the old people go down there and enjoy it.
YoungPoet345 · 26-30, F
@Addictedtoglamour Why don’t I take you down there and you can tell me? I’ll give you a ride in my mystery van to Alabama so you can find out for sure. Lol, those darn old people trying to enjoy their retirement. The nerve!

@Xena1234 Well I just know it is not a life for me and I have no plans in the future to move to some one traffic light boring town.

@Originalkingfish Maybe that's in the super ultra country areas.
LOL...it’s actually pretty peaceful. I wouldn’t personally live in the country but I could see why people like living there away from everything else....sometimes I think about retiring on a ranch with a lake, lots of land, and a bunch of dogs running around.

If you're racist and love guns, the country is a good place for you. There are very few minorities, and you can probably shoot your guns more out there.

As for everyone else, I guess if you like nature a lot, that can be a reason for liking it.
MURD3RM0NK3Y · 26-30, M
It’s peaceful, not a lot of people, people look out for each other for the most part, cost of living is low(atleast where I’m at), low crime rate, FRESH AIR !!
Shrug. Your loss. There are some good people out there who probably wouldn’t judge you quite as harshly.

Also, chickens make great pets.

@ProdigalSummer I don't know about that. I used to get it bad growing up. I don't think being flamboyant would fly in the country.
MURD3RM0NK3Y · 26-30, M
It’s not that bad as most make it out to be. I grew up in the city but I live in the country now and I would never go back.

Is this what it’s like in Murica country?
Addictedtoglamour · 31-35, M
@Flenflyys Well in some areas there's these creepy looking dirt roads, abandoned falling apart barns, rusting junk pilled up in people's front yards, old crumbling farm houses, cars that haven't run in 20 years chilling on cinder blocks out front. Yeah.
Addictedtoglamour · 31-35, M

I just never could be happy living in a place that looks like this.
Fernie · F
not a nature lover huh?
Addictedtoglamour · 31-35, M
@Fernie Far from it. I despised family camping trips.
Fernie · F
@Addictedtoglamour ??? far from it? You just agreed with me

@Psycho Less intrusive? I feel that with the communities being so tiny everyone would be up each others rear end.
