How can anybody stand living in the country?

First off there is nothing to do except stare at fields of corn all day long. Your neighbors are probably hillbillies who marry their sisters and probably smoke meth. Everyone knows your business, which would seriously get on my last nerve. Did I mention there is no shopping, no nightclubs, no any type of civilization except for the general store and maybe a gas station or two if you are lucky. I would die absolutely shrivel up and die.

Oh, well let us all talk about how damned wonderful it is to live in the city. Horrendous traffic, maniacs using leaf blowers and waking people up, High property taxes, People constantly walking by yakking loudly on their cell phones so you can't even sit on your porch and read, higher crime rate, the air stinks, the city water stinks, local tax rates very high, etc. etc.

I lived in the city for a very long time. It was fucking depressing to say the least. I finally sold my sought after property and moved to the country. Now, I have none of the shit I had while living in the city. I have not seen even one corn field, and we have lots of shopping and plenty of Real civilization. I can actually smell good air and not polluted air.

Yes, you would certainly die out in the country, because you are weak and have no real substance to yourself.🤣

@Xena1234 Maybe I'm just wired differently from everyone else but being around all the noise and all the people milling about just makes me feel kind of alive in a sense. I never sit out on a porch and read.

@Addictedtoglamour what do you do all day?
Addictedtoglamour · 31-35, M
@YoungPoet345 On days I have to work I work. Sometimes I go shopping, I eat out every night because I don't really cook. Visit friends, go clubbing, walk around town sometimes. Stay home and lounge around. Bar hopping sometimes.

@Addictedtoglamour sounds expensive. 😂but you know, if that makes you happy, that’s fine. I’m just saying, if the people out in the country are happy and you are happy in the city, then why be bothered? 🙃🤷‍♀️

@Addictedtoglamour Ever think that all of that is not productive at all? Most of us people in the country actually go outside and feel, see, hear nature. Sounds boring to you doesn't it? We actually plant and grow trees, we do not kill and cut them down, as so many do in the city. Did you know there would be NO life on earth without trees and plants? Oh, wait now I have bored you haven't I?

@YoungPoet345 I personally just can't understand the appeal but I guess we all are just wired differently in the brain. We all want different things out of life I guess.

More food for thought: Do you not realize that if farmers did not grow food, when you go to your city store, you would have NO fruits or vegetables to buy? And, any frozen products you buy, because you probably nuke all of your food, would not be there? Whatever would you do?

@Xena1234 I'm not an outdoorsy person. I hate gardening, I hate getting dirty, I can't stand all the bugs that land on you. Ugh I used to get eaten alive by mosquitos when we would go camping even with the bug spray on. Life isn't always about being productive it is about enjoying your stay on earth. You might be happy planting trees and going on hikes but that doesn't bring me happiness. Happiness to me is breezing through the mall seeing and feeling all that is happening around me. I enjoy buying new shoes or a new shirt or sitting down somewhere drinking a coffee. To me that is living.

@Addictedtoglamour Sure it is, for now.

@Xena1234 and as for the farmers they chose that path in life or inherited the land or something. They do play an important role in society and I applaud them for it as I could never do it. Waking up at 4am to milk cows? No way. I do most of my eating out at a restaurant except for a few snacks I have back home. Sometimes I'll make something but it usually comes in a box or bag.
