On both my side and my wife's side of our family there have been no divorces among our grandparents, parents, or siblings (or the two of us). But our nephews have not been so lucky.

DrWatson · 70-79, M
My parents were married in 1949 and remained happily married until their deaths in 2018 and 2019.

As for religion, they were both nominally Catholic, but neither was particularly observant. My mother raised my sister and I as Catholic and took us to church on Sundays, but once we were grown she stopped going herself.
I'm glad that your parents could make that happen!

My parents never divorced, took marriage vows older than average, and had over 50 yrs together.
My parents have both passed away, but they were married for 60+ years and very happy together.

My Dad passed 4 years ago, but my parents were married my entire life. They had rough spots, but always worked through everything and I don't know if my mom will ever think about getting remarried or even date.
Yes. My parents have been married almost 50 years.

And I have been married almost 20. None of us are religious.

It’s a sign we have more strength of character and compromise than most people.

Mine married sometime in the early 60's (62 or 63 I would guess...) and remained married until my father passed away a year ago. I know there had to have been some rough spots but they kept it to themselves.

My parents were married for 42 years until my father's death. My mother liced another 17 years and never remarried.
They were Catholic, but not religious and that is true of most of their children...though one of my sisters is quite religious.

Mine divorced in 1980 when I was 12. Messy and unpleasant. Probably what turned me off marriage forever and left me unable to have rewarding successful adult relationships now.

Both parents are no longer alive. I don't know when they got married but 1960's I'd say.
My parents were married for 18 years, just after their 18th anniversary my mom passed away at 38 from cancer.

My parents were married for 4 years, divorced, then remarried each other (🤡) and were married for another 4 years before divorcing again. They were childfree for 5 of their married years together. They had me on their fifth year of marriage, then divorced when I was 3.
Piper · 61-69, F
It was a marriage of mutual love, respect and commitment, that lasted for the 39 years until my mother died.
Jacko1971 · 51-55, M
My parents were married for 38 years when my dad died. That will be 30 years ago in December.
My parents were happy together.
Unfortunately their marriage lasted only 18 years because of my father's early death.
