Do you think a marriage can survive losing a child at an early age?

Yes. I have known several who had that heartbreak and continued to have a good marriage.

We lost our son 3 1/2 years old in 1976. We had been married 9 years. It wasn't easy but we made it.

We lost our youngest daughter in 2022 age 41. There was no reason for her death except vodka. She wouldn't give it up. It destroyed her liver. She wouldn't listen. That was the hardest.

Children are the product of the love of a man bf a woman. The love is more important than the child. You can have another child… but if you stop loving each other then there will be no more.

@Muthafukajones I mostly agree with you, but please don't add "You can have another child". That may or may not be true. We struggled to have another child, we through infertility treatments etc. People mean well when they say that but maybe they Can't have another child.

From personal experience although it is extremely rough on a marriage the marriage can remain intact. Our son passed away in 2010 and my wife and I are still together.

Depends on the couple. It can go both ways.
I'd really like to hope so.

My parents lost two and it survived.
It could actually bring them closer together.
Sharing that kind of sadness is deep intimacy. 🫂
