Distance myself for a bit. Id be respectful towards the person the friend was dating, and supportive towards tbe friend.

Ultimately it depends on 'why' I could not stand them.

I’m pretty sure when I started dating my hubby my one brother wasn’t fond of him. Even less fond when we got engaged and later just pretended to be happy at our wedding.

Now I’m estranged from said brother. The truth is I prob should have listened a little more closely. The two of them ended up having a lot of arguments and I was often in the middle. It sucked. My brother doesn’t speak to me or my hubby anymore. I feel sad about that but he’s not the forgiving kind.

Time to steal that friend romantically. I'm sorry dave, I can't let you do that to yourself.

It honestly depends on the friend. I could tolerate said person for a bit, but the minute they become unbearable I leave the party and try to catch my friend later. Long as they treat them right, I don't really mind.

Minute they get dumped though, I drop that ex like a turd.
