Why do some women constantly say the word "like"?

My girlfriend does it all the time, is there a reason women do that?

Don’t know but it’s very annoying. Beginning a sentence with “so” also grinds my gears.

@OlderSometimesWiser So, I actually love catching people's speech patterns. I like to notice when people start their sentences with "so", or "well".
