I would say something to them. Have an open dialogue. I'm over bottling things up and never saying how I really feel about things out of fear of being disliked. I'd rather be transparent and open. It sets the tone for real connections based on mutual respect for both the self and the other. When you hold your tongue in moments of injustice, it perpetuates that injustice. Even if the infraction seems minor, it holds onto an entire stigma. You really have nothing to lose but a fake friendship that was based on lack of true honesty and respect if you lose friends over this.

Lol. People all sound the same but there are some accents and mannerisms that are usually a dead give away.

We all deserve to decide, whenn, and when NOt to use formal language. I can speak pefect broadcast english, and work hard to sound good in any language.
Ihave pals, that get so frutrated with this, that they respnd with the thickest "urban acent" they can. Verbal, black face.
Next time you get this? Switch to a hillbilly accent

@plaguewatcher I know but it’s actually my own people of color who treat me bad because I articulate idk of maybe it’s my friends circle or something but most of the black girls I meet tell me i sound white or have a baby voice and then tell me that’s why people think they can run over me

I can easily abandon the regional accent.
In some parts of the US to speak in my family way, is a great benefit. ( upper class southern has amazing effect on loweer class southerners.)
To feel what you do, to be isolated thus. Is tragic.
There are lot of Califonians of african heritage that are like TOOOTally white sounding , and have been all their lives.
I am a natural mimic, useful.
But if i speak Hillbilly? It is assumed i am uneducated and practice insest.

Frankly sounding intelligent and friendly is good, the fact that racism exists is bad, and the fact that sounding intelligent and friendly as a colored person makes them think you “sound white” is racist against black people, even black people have been shown to have negative racist attitudes and ideas toward black people in general, it’s something that’s been ingrained in a lot of people and it’s messed up in general

@Lexiitexii exactly, most southern white people sound like a country song (I'm white and from the south but I'm weird, I probably sound a lot like you)

I think it's refreshing to hear, I hear getto talk or what ever it's called way to much. I didn't know white people had a certain way of talking, I know some have that lazy way of talking and trying to talk getto, honestly you just sound like a nice person. You don't sound any color.
