@SW-User, yes! I so love those two qualities in a man and even my ex had that. It was the lack of honesty and integrity that I could not handle after 20 years.

I was lucky to find love again so late in life considering I was not looking.

@LukeTheDuke I disagree. Not everyone is capable of loving others to the same degree. Some have a shallow sense of love. Some have none at all.

It taken me 20years to work out that no two peoples expectation/definition of love is the same.
It varies greatly - from consuming all else in their life for it.... To not being able to love at all.

Things like 'want','need', 'desire', and even 'greed' and 'vanity' are often translated as love.

Deep Love requires a great deal of adaption, a want for balance between you, and no pride. It makes you accept your failings and strive to be better.

Everybody loves.

But only a minority have the strength, honesty, dedication and grace to be able to love deeply.

Whilst I agree with what you’ve said the question wasn’t about love. It was about personal qualities (which indeed could lead to love). I accept that being loving is a characteristic and hence capable of falling within the ambit of personal qualities but I wanted to be more specific in identifying the main personality traits which people find attractive. @BoobooSnafu
