Why did my bf's sister lie to me

Ok so we are out at the restaurant. Me, my bf and his sister, and this girl walks up and speaks to them and walk away. His sister tells me that she is just her neighbor, and my bf says that was his ex gf.

@Firestarter But some people are so possessive they become upset about ex's being around. Not saying you would, but I bet she knows girls like that and didn't want the trouble.

Maybe she wasn't lying...maybe she is your bf's sister's neighbor and he used to be in a relationship with her (just because they broke up doesn't mean she or his sister moved someplace else).

and she is not his sisters neighbor .
Maybe she was just being a good sister ,and covering for her brother
maybe assuming you would read something thats not there into them running into one another ..
Maybe she assumed by saying she was just a neighbor ,,you would drop it
and not let you're imagination run wild
If he loves you enough to be totally honest with you ,,I would let it go
and chock it up to she was looking out for her brother .
I do understand once someone lies to you ,its hard to trust them again ,
I have issues with people who lie to me too ,
But after years of turning mole hills into mountains ,that only hurt me
I learned to stop speculating ..asking advice from others (it only adds more doubt and fuel for distrust )and go straight to the source (which you have done )
He was honest with you ,so I would as I said chock it up to she was looking out for her brother and let it go ..aware that in the future ,she will lie to protect her brother
