That hardly sounds picky, most people want somebody on their own level. Other way around if she wasn't too bright she'd probably choose somebody the same.

BlueVeins · 22-25
Of course that's cool.
raysam363 · 31-35, F
That's not even a picky requirement in a partner. Now, if she demanded a PhD or something, that would be picky.

Man, I've been saying this to my kids everyday..find a man who cares about his education.
4meAndyou · F
I think I actually heard a dating service advertisement that says they cater to highly educated elites.

That's not being "too picky". Your sister has an education and a brain, and she wants to date someone with whom she can have an interesting conversation.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
She is not too picky. The most common activity between two partners is conversation. If she knows she needs an educated person in order to be happy, then no one should chide her for that.

At least find one with stable employment
Redstar · 36-40, M
Ugh.. I hate that. It's like they saying she should be happy with any random guy that's kind of ok, rather than someone that she actually loves and wants to be with.
eMortal · M
@Redstar no one said it's not ok. It's just a narrow and almost shallow view.
eMortal · M
Indians and Iranians living abroad are known for that. The guys has to be Doctor or Engineer. Sccessful Cook won't cut it. It has to be a Doctor or an Engineer!!! 😂😂😂
JBird · F
@eMortal my sister is Indian. So .... 😆

it is probably the smartest way to find a partner. opposites really don’t stick together very well.
Sroonaka616 · 31-35, M
It is fine we all look for something different in a partner.
MissTaken · 36-40, F
It’s her choice if she wants to be picky nobody else’s

Of course it's ok, It's very stimulating to talk to intelligent people, and learn new things..and I do not mean in the slightest pervy way
REMsleep · 41-45, F
We all have certain criteria for our mate. But,if alot of people are telling your sister that she is being too picky, is it possible that they are saying this because it is true? If many people who know me tell me something about myself I have to stop and really evaluate what they are really telling me.
Maybe education is being used as a red herring in her case.

No I think it’s fine to have a list of things you want in a partner.
