Cos (kinda pathetic to base my standard on what social norm is based on youtube) but a lot of people joke about themselves being basic and it's sort of like to turn a negative connotation of being spoiled or mainstream and stuff into a yeap I am, but so what? *snaps fingers*

basic is making fun of someone for liking trendy thing and saying that just follow trends with no individuality. For example , a "basic" girl is someone who loves pumpkin spice lattes , binge watches sex in the city and are obsessed with fall. its stupid who cares if you are sorry i like things that alot of other people like
