I remember it well. It was awkward and sloppy because we were eight years old trying to imitate the big kids. Back in the good old days, boys and girls in their teens would just make out spontaneously. It was expected and accepted as the thing to do. I'm serious! Of course there was superficiality involved and you had to stay in your 'league', but making out was like the 'cool' thing to do.
