Is it normal for a 5 year old boy to have a crush on a girl his own age?

She apparently crushed on my aunt's 5 year old son first, now my aunt's son seems to like it and has a crush on her back. lol
I find it very common. My son is so into his classmate to the point that the teacher had to separate them because all he does is look at her 😅

I had a crush on the boy down the street when I was 5.
The most normal I would think.

@Gingerbreadspice I had a crush on a girl named Jaylynn, and Britney when I was five. Wrote her a love letter and everything. Moved before I could give it to them. My mom says I cried all the way to IL, but I don’t remember crying. I remember trying to be tough for my mom, thinking that I didn’t want to move and it must be sad for her to as well, and probably to see me cry. I was also mad, and didn’t want to tell her about the love letter.
@AccursedAlexander3 These things happen to us all.

@WendyLopez43 i suppose at such a young age it is harmless enough kids i guess have the same feelings as adults but far from as advanced of course

@smiler2012 She calls him her "Daddy Mack". lol
Two words: Kimberly Edwards. Be still my 5-year-old heart!
I thought it was mostly the girls who crushed early, because of maturing faster.
1) We're talking about very prepubescent kids. In what way are very little girls "more mature" than very little boys?

2) A lot of teen girls say this, but seem to confuse sexual maturity (ability to make a baby) with actual maturity.

3) Puberty has been turning on earlier in girls because of artificial chemicals which mimic estrogen...so girls get exposed to chemicals which start their sexual maturation earlier. I suspect that this same external influence might delay the onset of male sexual maturity by a small-yet-measurable amount.

I did. Held this sweetheart's hand walking to Kindergarten with both our moms walking behind us. Oh man, I loved her. 🤣

WendyLopez43 · 26-30, F
@ExtremeNext I was kidding lol, but I think the girl must watch more TV and imitate what adults do.
