Depends on what it is, and what the circumstances are (why they are doing it repeatedly)
That being said, whether or not I believe their apologies… I would most likely distance myself/withdraw. Someone can genuinely be sorry, but be unable to change.

@MarbleMarvel 🤔it depends in all sincerity how the apology comes over and is it meant or just a get out for an unacceptable act.🤷♂all couples fall out fair enough but if this is happening too often and you are not always responsible it makes you think do you and your partner it is time too sit down and talk abouit it before it spoils your relationship permantly

I think the math speaks for itself in your situation ..

Do something about it immediately
And in future only complain once and if it doesn't work
You do something about it and by doing that, you can't be branded as a complainer

Even if I believed their apology (not very likely) what they’ve clearly demonstrated is that they have no intention of stopping their hurtful behavior. Or are just unable to do so.

I’d wonder how gullible I was. I’d wonder where my self worth went. I’d wonder why I keep them in my life, regardless of the “relationship”.
Fairydust · F
No I wouldn’t, I give way too many chances, not anymore.
powernap · 56-60, M
I don't know. I would have to know a little bit more about the people involved and what the offense was.
Nah and I’d be disappointed with myself for putting up with it that long
Not at all
HijabaDabbaDoo · F
At that point they're not sorry. They're trying to test how far they can push your boundaries. Either that or they don't have the capacity

Nope. Would have stopped believing about 999,997 times ago.
LostDowntheRabbitHole · 41-45, F
Why would you let it get to the millionth time?
LostDowntheRabbitHole · 41-45, F
@MarbleMarvel You said yourself for the millionth time, hyperbole aside, if someone keeps doing something and you don't kick them to the kerb, at some point you start to take on the responsibility for letting it happen
LostDowntheRabbitHole · 41-45, F
@MarbleMarvel **only if you are American

Nope. Once, maybe twice, is a mistake, anything after that is a habit
Intuitive · 46-50, F
Nah let them fade to oblivion .
PinkMoon · 26-30, F
No. The only sincere apology is a change in behaviour.
ineedadrink · 51-55, M
No, it gets weaker each time.

Hurt me once, shame on you.
Hurt me twice, shame on me.
Hurt me twice, shame on me.
@Northwest nah, shame on them
caccoon · 36-40
