Does age matter to you in a relationship?

Age isn’t a factor for me; my most recent relationship was with a younger man. We both already had children and careers so we were compatible in those areas, as well as in terms of interests, values, life philosophies, and intimacy. Of course I understand that age does matter to others, and I respect that!

Not at all. I was raised by my wonderful, blessed grandmother and her group of lovely femme lesbian friends. By the time I started going to an actual school at age 12, after being tutored at home and included by Gran and her Sapphic Circle in their outings, I presented as a more mature young lady rather than a pre-teen, As such I related much better with adults than those closer the age on my ID.

I think it's a relative factor. Some people refuse to date/marry more than a few years either side of their age.

My two LTR's have been with women 7 yrs younger than me. I don't have any romantic partner currently so really not thinking much about it.

Since I've only had two relationships of any substance I don't have a lot of experience with dating a lot higher or a lot lower than my current age range so not sure and that's presuming I could (a) recognise a person not around my age as a potential relationship/sex partner (since I can't get flirting or body language, etc.) and (b) be able to let myself be vulnerable to even have a relationship again.

Only if I want to talk to the person. So much of language and culture has changed it would be difficult to maintain a wide age gap relationship. I know of a couple who have been able to have a long term wide age gap relationship. They are still happy together although the wife who is 20 years younger is now doubly burdened since her mother and her husband both have dementia.

I would want somebody close to my age, and may go as young as 35 but yeah if somebody's closer to my age they're probably a little more mature, and on the older side maybe 60 but not much older because I don't want somebody who's pretty much on their deathbed. Holy crap though stuff like this comes up and it reminds me how old I am which kind of sucks.

i do have limits. i have been involved with someone 17 years younger, and also 16 years older. my current girlfriend is older than me by a few months. although i have dated people a good deal younger and older, i tend to do better with those near my age.

I'd like to say no, but being honest? Yes.
The odds are you have more in common with someone of your own age and compatible stages in life and life goals.

Not so much. Although, there's definitely a correlation between someone being closer to my age and their brand of mentality and level of maturity. I want to be with someone who's had the same kinds of experiences as I. Someone too young wouldn't satisfy that.

I find that having a young daughter in my 50's throws everyone off who might otherwise be interested, but I'd be open to say anyone 40+ up to about 60 if the connection was good. Just hard to get people to see past the initial presentation and understand the real me.

It has never been (within a 20 year + or - range) a deal breaker for me (except when I was a lot younger and the woman was way younger), but it is important to carefully consider it as the age difference increases (either older or younger).

Age is a number but as a 50+ guy if I try to date a woman any younger than 45 I'd get labelled as a pervert and/or sexual predator. Yet a woman can date another woman of any age and it's considered ok.

‘Life phase’ matters to me, which usually brings age into it. If someone much older was pursuing my teen I’d be pretty suspicious of their intentions until she was nearing 30 lol.

Yes. Young men are too poor and horny. Old men are gross physically. It feels like elder abuse. Im attracted to my peers bc I relate more, we tend to have similar lives. A 5yr difference is ideal.

I would say the connection matters more. But often the connection comes from shared experiences, and age does play a role in that. But sometimes the connection transcends anything.

Ooooh this is a sticky question. Age can matter. Hmmm. It all depends on what the other person is looking for and where they’re at with the stages of life/career.

I want to say no, however I never had a big age gap in my relationship, so can't say for sure until I try it.

25 and under is to young for me and over 43 id say is getting a tad older for me
