Not a romantic answer, but this is my life.
I wouldn't have to because he'd come with me or let me go experience that if it was what I truly wanted. I'd do the same for him. We love each other that much.
In my reality, we support each other no matter what. If one of us wanted something, we'd he!p the other achieve it. We'd let the other go to experience life. We've done it before, we could do it again. We did it with respect and dignity.

Hypothetical: If I felt she didn't love me, I could.
Reality: If my wife didn't want to go and it was my decision alone to split up our family, then no, I would pass on the job. No amount of money can substitute for an absent husband or an absent father.

If it was a serious long-term relationship they should understand. It seems like most people on here don't even know that this is reality for many families. It's sad but that's how it is. One parent shows up at home once in 2 weeks or even less and that's it.

I’m 65 and happy. I already have a great job. The wife isn’t up for barter. I’m good.
I’m staying.
Now at 24… I’m gone.

I was such a mercenary and so focused on money that prior to having a family, early 20’s me would have run for the money. At this point, I wouldn’t consider it.

@BamPow same. Just turned a double nickel in June (55)

Nah, what's the point of success if you can't share it with someone you love
Bang5luts · M
@HijabaDabbaDoo especially if it's a good partner
HijabaDabbaDoo · F
@Bang5luts exactly
I used to have to do just that every couple of years when I was younger.....
I cannot say they were "really good job offers", they were just cross country or international in nature.

No, i love my man too much. I cannot see myself without him. No way! That would be torture for me.

No, if I was in a relationship I’d put them first.
YMITheWayIM · 46-50, M
I wouldn't, my family might want me to though.

My Romantic life is null, but being so far from family, probably not.
Wiseacre · F
I think I could! But of course now I’m retired.

Depends on the relationship. Long term doesn't always mean solid or healthy.

No Love is so much more important than money
hunkalove · 70-79, M
Sure. As long as it pays a fortune, I don't have to do much, and there are babes with cute butts!
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
Under the current Nazi regime in the USA no way never ever for any job there. I'd never qualify for a green card anyway. Lol

Hell yeah I’d do it if there was no ring
