Why not? So far you haven't said anything bad about her...
The worse thing is that she has family members whom won't like you, but that doesn't matter, what matters is the people in the relationship.
The second worst thing you said about her is that she's sweet to you.
So I don't see any reason you would date someone that's sweet to you (assuming you're both single)

Only if there is no prenup. 🤭

I would and to be honest I don’t care how much she earns, more or less than me doesn’t matter. All I want is she hasn’t got a shitty personality.

Yes. When I started dating my wife in high school, her family was a lot richer than mine because her father was a doctor. As it turned out, he died the year we married, which was before he accumulated the fortune that other doctors in town accumulated. It's a good thing we love each other since the "rich woman" part didn't work out.

If I was a guy? Sure.

I thought girls went for the Big & Stupid like this song from the 1980s

@HumanEarth Well, I do sort of like nicely muscled guys...and that doesn't happen sitting at a keyboard or going to endless meetings. BUT...I don't really like stupid guys at all at all.
HumanEarth · F
Well that song is funny though and old
nedkelly · 61-69, M
No, Mrs Kelly does not allow me to date anybody

I don’t understand. Is your goal to date someone poor intentionally?
So you’ll settle in life and have no goals or aspirations? That makes zero sense to me.
When life gives you a chance you take it. If it doesn’t, you make it. “If” has nothing to do with it.
Never settle.

If I was dating, if we liked each other, absolutely yes. No reason to compare myself with her exes and no reason to worry about what her parents think at the early stages -- and if we start talking marriage it will be her decision whether she values me or her parents more.

Hell yes / first off if ur not making a lot of money maybe she can set up with certain people or contacts to help u make more money and stocks. And trades. Then u make ur own million. Money is not the answer to love so if she love u. U could be poor and she would love u vice versa to
Midlifemale · 61-69, M
Sure...she may welcome the blue collar hard working honest handsome man. It could be a refreshing personality need for her with no bragging rights that come with the other wealthy men.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
I was in a similar situation many years ago. We didn't work out, for other reasons, but her dad had a really nice boat, and we fished together for a few years.

If she stays sweet then yes. If she slowly turns out to be snobby/elitist as we get to know each other better, then no.
beermeplease · M
yeah....but i'd be sure not to let her ex shove dental instruments in my mouth if he was my hygienist

I'm not a man, but I personally would be intimidated if the roles were reversed.

Actually, I rather have a poor woman and make our money together. Because I know poor, I was raised poor, lived in poorest neighborhoods and I want someone I can relate with my past with.
SlightlyBelowAverageJoe · 36-40, M
Yeah, easy.
Thetinydog · 26-30, F
@SlightlyBelowAverageJoe how would you handle her parents saying she deserves better than you because you're broke? Would you worry about her ex boyfriend coming back into the picture
SlightlyBelowAverageJoe · 36-40, M
@Thetinydog I'd be a little self conscious/concerned. But i would just try to be myself, as much as i could. Either i get accepted, by her family, her,.. or not. I guess we would see.
SlightlyBelowAverageJoe · 36-40, M
@Thetinydog plus, moms love me for some reason. So i might win them over.
TexChik · F
I'm sticking with my hubby, but that situation is tough. First of all, the Buc-ees (a local gas station) have Help Wanted signs everywhere, and their lowest position makes more than $40K, So being a glaring underachiever is just the beginning of this guy's problems.
