It doesn’t really matter to me… I feel that overall intelligence, the ability to have interesting conversations, general kindness, patience… They’re far more important. I do find successful women sexually attractive, but it’s not a criteria. I would date a barista or an athlete or a businesswoman- as long as I like her for who she is
Unfortunately, for us men, it’s not the same. We need to be handsome, successful, intelligent and then personality-related factors are considered

To be perfectly honest, I'd struggle to befriend, let alone date, someone in a very different socioeconomic class from myself IRL because that means we have a lot less in common. I don't need them to have status or be rich, but I would probably feel a bit guilty, honestly, if they've only been scraping by all this time because they were given so much less privilege than I was. I recognize that this is a character defect on my part.

Intelligence, warmth, a loving, caring and compassionate spirit
When I met my wife she was penniless, had dropped out of high school to help support her mom/dad several years prior and was working as a house keeper in Asia for $25 a month plus room and board.
Today.... I am a stay at home dad, and she has a great job (nearing retirement with a pension), she went to college, learned to drive and has a really nice car, still supports her aging mother overseas and hits the gym regularly to stay in shape.
I like to think I won the "lottery of life".
So....on to your question.... I could care less about a woman's education, money, and status when you're in a relationship or about to be in one? None of those attributes make any woman a better choice than any other.

Not important.

No, I don't care. It's not like I'll ever benefit from any of that, anyway, so why should I care? It's great that those women care about their careers and having a lot of money and whatnot, it's great, but I don't care. It's great they care, but I don't. None of that is gonna get our you know whats hard or anything. I never once was out in public and heard 2 guys talking about a hot chick and then heard one of them say "Man, look at that degree on her!" No guy does that, ever.

@xSiFiGamer2016x A person enjoying math or history or has an education is not masculine..I'd say thats human. But I guess I wouldn't enjoy a competitive nature in a relationship...from myself instilling it or him.
xSiFiGamer2016x · 26-30, M
@Coralmist Yeah, the education part isn't masculine, we go through this in schools and universities. But as far as competition, it's a turn off. And I'm glad that you don't fit with these women, it's not a good look in my eyes.

Men date at the same socio-economic strata or below and women generally date at the same level or above. It’s very rare to find a woman dating a man significantly below her in terms of education, wealth, looks and intelligence… In fact, I’ve never seen it happen and even if it does, such relationships are doomed from the start, generally-speaking. It only happens in movies and even there, that aspect is only shown to prove such associations do not work out…

I'd be lying if I said it didn't matter.
If I were to choose between a lady with education, wealth, and prestige and one without, It'll be the first one all day.
It doesn't mean that someone who lacks education, money, and social standing is never worthy. Perhaps she was unlucky in life.
But when I see a woman with education and riches, I see a lady who has worked hard and made sacrifices to obtain those things. That is significant.
Having said that, I've met some beautiful and amazing women who don't fulfill any of the above criteria. So you never know.

I had always said that I couldn't be with a girl who doesn't have a university education and here I am with a girlfriend who has pretty much no education at all . as for money I used to say I didn't care if a girl has money because I used to be very comfortable financially, now i'm a bit more poor and I wish my girlfriend had a bit more money, it gets expensive to pay for our travels.
Torsten · 36-40, M
no i dont care about any of that. If she is independent (i aint going to be used like a atm) and we click is important. Whats now most important though how they would be towards my son. They aint ever going to be his mother or have a say in how he is raised, so would see how they handle that

To me, a lady of substance, is most desirable .

So long as she thinks I am the most educated wealthy elite man around I really don't care about her education or money or status. 😉

SW-User
Like I’m sure most men would like her to have a sense of humour and be possibly be a little bit funny sometimes. In which case she has to be somewhat intelligent and to be intelligent probably has to be just a little bit educated.
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
Not a whit, assuming by status you mean social standing and not marital or commitment. Intelligence, yes, which is not determined by education. Personality, yes.
xSiFiGamer2016x · 26-30, M
@dancingtongue Yeah, the status part I need to be clear on next time. But yeah, that's basically it.

Do you only consider your own happiness or your prospective children as well? If you become ill and die, wouldn't you want a partner who is capable of cultivating your children into responsible successful adults? You have a big head, you should use it.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
@SW-User are you implying that a poor, uneducated person couldn't cultivate successful adults? 🤔
xSiFiGamer2016x · 26-30, M
@SW-User I wouldn't mind having her be responsible for my kids if I'm not around. But as far as her having an education being a flex, or even the stuff she worked for, it's not my business. As long as she knows what she's doing, that's all that matters.

SW-User
@DearAmbellina2113 Poor perhaps, but poor, uneducated and has no status? Yes, the likelihood is slim.
