Yes, I'm serious.
From the post I linked above:

"Ukraine I think is the first nation with no operational navy to sink a flagship....named after the opposing nation's capital city no less.

This after last month they sunk an amphibious assault ship.

Now Russia claims they lost the ship to a fire which....that was a choice. So they think admitting their navy is completely incompetent was the smarter option than admitting a defeat in battle. Can't make this shit up.

Been in one before turned out bad, people got hurt, i was also hurt, never again...

Its not worth the pain, nor the hurt. I realized that if being with one person is not good enough, then im not with the right person. And also, its not fair for the other parties cause you always love one more than the other and no real relationship can come out of it unless you choose one of them....

I know ill get hate fron this, but its my point of view for having been in one years ago

I was in an open relationship for many years , then my partner started to change into some one I didnt really like and last year I finally left which I should have done many years ago .
Being in an open relationship provided neither of you have a jelous streak is great also provided you set boundaries , be honest with each other and trust each other . Once the trust is gone so is the relationship .

@PepsiColaP Yes I think we need to define if the sex is with just sexual partners or full blown relationships. I'm not into sister wives or anything, I just think pure sexual monogamy is not always what must be followed.

They might sound great in theory but the reality is they're just not very practical for most relationships. People can easily get jealous, insecure or they'll develop too much of an emotional attachment to 'other' people, etc.
So they only work in very specific situations, and only if you can both separate loving someone and having sex with someone as two completely different things.

I know two women who seem to find it works well, though maybe in those cases, it's not really open, per se. Both these women have a husband and a boyfriend and they share different parts of their lives with each.

I'll admit that I occasionallly wonder about the idea, but I very much doubt that I could make it work. I don't compartmentalize well.

Success, or not, depends very much on the people involved. Good communication is absolutely essential.
