Well worth your time. I first read it in 9th grade... my English teacher (who I had a crush on) lent me her own copy. It took quite awhile to get through it but I liked it.
I am never going to read Proust and I have come to terms with that and don't feel guilty anymore.

I've tried a couple of times, but just haven't been able to get into it.

I have not read anything by Tolstoy yet, but I would like to. I'd probably try and read Anna Karenina before War and Peace, though.
Hinckley ·
One of my favorite books. I've read it several times!

The Odyssey. Halfway thru it!!!

Antiquated now I think. Try Javier Marius, if you want to read Spanish modern classics.

Paradise Lost
twistedrope · 26-30, M
@Rolexeo I couldn't get through the first 10 pages of that one. Too many words and references I didn't get.

You name it, I haven't read it. And never will. The same goes for most of the "great" movies - the ones that win all kinds of awards.

More Dostoyevsky
peterlee · M
@DearAmbellina2113 Yes, difficult to read. Better keep a note of the names though. A character has three. And Dostoyevsky flicks between them at will.

@peterlee I've only read The Idiot, and I loved it. I'd like to read more of his work.

@DearAmbellina2113 Try The Brothers Karamazov, but take it slowly.
