I love to go to coffee houses but I don't like coffee.
After reading some of your responses to others, it seems that our reasons are similar. I enjoy the atmosphere and lightly chatting with other people. And just as libraries offer things other than books, coffee houses serve things other than coffee.
Although the way I mostly spend my time at coffee houses is.....reading books! 😄

My local library used to have a nice magazine room. People could sit there and read the latest issues of magazines and newspapers and so on, and on rainy days when I felt a bit sad I would go there and read. Unfortunately, they've done away with that room.

I love libraries, and while I definitely enjoy reading, I've not found something I like in quite a while! So I do go there but don't always read lol. I like checking their new DVDs and magazines too.

@Coralmist Travel magazines are my choices there too

I spent my entire childhood doing just that
The librarians hated me
(I lived directly next door to the local library....so, by default, I spent a lot of time there).

@Ferric67 Why did they hate you? You were a troublemaker there?
Ferric67 · M
@Heretochat yeah, I was full of shenanigans
Usually, I brought my friends and my purpose was to be entertained....not educated
Probably, the pinnacle chaotic moment might have been when I propped my dads ladder and had my friends climb on to the roof. One of the librarians came out and removed the ladder, stranding my friends on the roof.
Quite funny

My daughter wants to be a librarian. She loves books so much.
They're full of nostalgia for me. My kid loves a library visit
Heretochat · 46-50, MNew
@V00doo I went there with mine many times so i guess that's a reason too
FloorGenAdm · 51-55, M
How come nobody shushes women in the library? Seems to me women do all the shushing but nobody shushes them. What kind of double standard is this? 🤫
bijouxbroussard · F
@FloorGenAdm Even I’ve been shushed. And I have a very soft voice. 🤔
SomeMichGuy · M
@FloorGenAdm Agreed

There are many other things apart from reading books that you can do in libraries. What do you like going to libraries for?
Heretochat · 46-50, MNew
@SunshineGirl I like to feel the atmosphere, reading newspaper and maybe meeeting intersting people
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@Heretochat Good. We need to use libraries as much as we can to keep them open and free for all.

@SunshineGirl You're right.....we shoudn't live only online....some forget that aspect sadly
