If you want to how remarkably unintuitive English can be, ask someone from non-English speaking countries who would be considered fluent.
My partner is from another country and speaks English perfectly. Until she doesn't. She always wants me to let her know when she's off base with pronunciation so I do. And when I do I realize that what's she saying makes perfect sense. On paper. But the rules don't always apply. Made me understand that English can be a very a tricky language. And it upped my respect for those who learn it.

I absolutely enjoyed this man's video. After all the words he mentioned, I'm surprised he didn't remember the word ''Worcestershire'', pronounced as ''Wu-stuh-shuh'' in the UK and in the US, as "Woos-ter-sher", although I have heard it pronounced more commonly as ''wors-ter-sher ''.
Humans, quite evidently, are the only beings on Earth that like complicating things🤦♀ 🤷♀
Thank you for sharing this, it's very educational😊

Because letters are silent only
They don't make sound, you do while speaking them 😇
