Westerners can be really mean.

I saw a video of a Chinese woman eating lobster and people were really rude on there, even wishing them death because of how she eats and lots of racial slurs too. People were freaking out. Also, there's this weird gatekeeping over how others should eat. Like how she was eating too much and lots of self righteous comments over how much she should eat. I got up out of there, it reminded me of one big orthorexic eating disorder.

I can't say the same for every Chinese person but I often see them very skinny because despite eating a lot in one meal, they use fresh everything and they're not eating every five minutes either. So yeah it may be a lot but it also could be their only meal. In this case, the Chinese woman had a huge lobster but people don't also consider that she could have shared this with others. They just jumped to conclusions.

That's not what really gets me though, it's how overly emotional people react when they see something that isn't already prepared for them. Like I'm sorry but you need to slaughter animals in order to eat them, I swear we're so disconnected.

It's not what she was doing in the video, she was just simply eating but it's the disconnect that I notice was very prominent and the little hints of self righteous "I'm better than you" anger because "civilized people don't eat like that."

That little colonialist bull.

To be honest, I think I find overly moral people more annoying than anyone else in the world because they often just appear like uppity know it alls with something stuck up their butts.

Just a did you know thing: another factor about Chinese, and a lot of Asian appearances, is that there is genetic predisposition for fat to develop internally to the musculoskeletal system as opposed to externally. This means that fat is not as visible to the eye in these cases, however it is more dangerous as it crowds the organs more.

Culturally though, there is a lot more walking and movement involved in their daily lives which also offsets a good amount of calorie consumption. So applying western standards misses a lot of the nuance involved.

Not really related to the judgemental attitudes of a lot of people, but I found it to be interesting when I learned it myself.

@ViciDraco That's really interesting about the fat, I didn't know that. Yeah I get it but there is a lot of walking and the villagers slaughter their own meat which would be labor intensive.

But I kind of feel like westerners apply how they live to everyone else and it's a little annoying. Like the woman in the video just cracked the shell and bit into it but this seemed to trigger a lot of people. It made me think just how we come across to the rest of the world.
I swear, sometimes I wish COVID had been more effective.
