What are you doing to spread kindness?

I have to think about it a bit, myself.
Did you get this question by reading Hemingway?

In the dimly lit cafe, amidst the clatter of dishes and murmur of conversation, he sat alone, nursing a whiskey, lost in thought. His eyes, weary from the weight of the world, betrayed a longing for something more, something beyond the mundane trappings of everyday life.

"To be honest," he murmured to himself, his voice barely audible above the din. "Not that much."

The words hung in the air, heavy with the weight of confession. He knew he could do better, be better, yet the path ahead seemed shrouded in shadow, obscured by doubt and indecision.

"I try to be kind to people," he continued, his voice growing stronger with each word. "But I'm not going out of my way to go the extra mile. To bring more kindness into the world."

His brow furrowed in contemplation, his thoughts drifting like leaves on the wind. Was it enough to simply exist, to move through life with blinders on, oblivious to the suffering of others? Or was there a deeper purpose, a nobler calling, waiting to be embraced?

"I could do better," he whispered, his voice barely a whisper now, barely a breath on the wind.

And in that moment, he knew. Knew that the journey ahead would be fraught with hardship and uncertainty. Knew that the road less traveled would be fraught with obstacles and pitfalls. But he also knew that it was a journey worth taking, a road worth exploring.

For in the depths of his soul, he harbored a glimmer of hope. A hope that, one day, he would find the courage to be kind, to be compassionate, to be the change he wished to see in the world.

And with that thought, he raised his glass in silent salute, toasting to the future, to whatever it may hold.

It’s not much, but I always keep a jar of candies on the counter at work, for my customers.
Or I’ll make cookies and bring them in…

They like it 😊
