I'm a relative newcomer and don't know the history of SW and its predecessor, but I don't think any of these choices. Maybe I'm too old to have high expectations of anything anymore, but I've found this a reasonable place to park to have a laugh, make a friend, exchange ideas that range from silly to useful.
My only real regret is having been blocked by a seasoned member during my first week here when I was still learning to navigate the site...blocked for using "big words" which she deemed indicative of a "better than" attitude. We might've become friends if not for our conversation's surprise ending. No worries, I'll be fine after another one or two sessions with my analyst 😊
Good days and bad days. Always worse during holiday seasons and election seasons.
Good contributors are having a tough time of life at the moment and sadly that lets the gripers and trolls overrun the feed.
Interesting to me how different age groups are reporting life at the moment.
Youngsters don't understand their partners words or behaviour. But rather than ask them directly they choose to solicit the opinion of strangers who don't know either of them !
Varying levels of anxiety seem to be affecting parents. Meaning they're questioning the life choices they made years ago and so the 'should i stay or go ?' question is in their minds.
The 'Middle-Agers' are stuck in all kinds of ruts from medical to work to retirement issues and it hasn't changed much in a long time. Hence we're more than cranky.
And older folks are seeing all this, rolling their eyes and choosing to post questions on politics or music or art etc.
I log on during hours I know there are good posts and likely to see my regular group I interact with. and when any of the other stuff happens you listed, I log off.
So, I can't post a vote there is no response that applies to me.
I see a big difference depending upon the day! With my class schedule, homework and stuff....so I'm not sure about the time of day but .....I see a lot of my friends show up on Monday after a weekend but then seem to disappear!
