Ideological Purity

I strikes me how ideological purity is demanded and expected more and more. One has to conform to a political party's entire agenda and talking points, or one really has no space. The same goes for faith communities. One must agree with every piece of every confession and engage in every practice, or one really has no space. That leaves alot of people on the outside looking in-- or just faking for expediency. Why such small tables? It used to be that faith communities, political and social movements, had huge inclusive tables…

I think it also leads to people becoming radical and intolerant. They can't accept any part of the oppositions ideology because they must accept every part of their side's.
