I liked the take "Dead Bodies" took on it where by eating brains, the zombies got to see the memories of the person and in some ways, it becomes like an addiction.

When you said "Dead Bodies", I thought my movie was called that. The one I was thinking of is called Wasting Away. If anything I said above made any sense, I'd be surprised.

I'm not sure what zombies eat....but I will say this BS about zombies being the walking dead, feasting on human flesh is a myth.
Watch the very first movie about zombies, made in 1932....White Zombie, starring the great Bela Lugosi. The film even goes into the actual Haitian Penal Code, which addresses zombiefication, in Article 249.
So, continue to enjoy perpetuating this zombie fantasy in films, books, and general fantasy discussion.

I'm 73 and grew up watching these movies since '57, when they came to television.
WZ is an independent film, shot on the back lot at Universal studios.
It's a product of its time, but there are a number of excellent camera shots....and Bela has some wonderful dialog.
The heroine, Madge Bellamy was a silent screen actor.

It was the evolution of zombie cinema. They began as living yet mindless people under voodoo spell. After Romero, they became the undead who ate flesh. In Return of the Living Dead, they introduced eating of the brain.
The idea of living dead is very old. Flesh eating living dead? Quite new. You will see in many zombie movies, they depict zombies eating any part of the flesh, not only brains. You then become one of them.

No, they eat brains because George Romero said so back in the 1970s and the concept stuck. Personally I prefer the old voodoo zombies.
