Some compliments aren’t compliments

Yes I get this any time I get carded and I know they don't really realize it's a back handed compliment. I usually just say ya I know I am old

Actually, they are telling you that you are a stand-out, looks-wise, in your age bracket.

They noticed that you look especially nice, better than your peers.

That doesn't sound at all awful.

Yeah, why not just say “you look good”

When they say 'ok, boomer' I just say 'ok, renter'.

Yes. It's an insult in disguise.. and it comes with no complimentary stuff but just stuffed into our ears ..

It sure beats, "You look bad for your age"...right?

People really need to learn how to phrase things
