I Have a Question

NSFW

Do you think attitudes to sex are intrinsically different in straight men and women, because in essence men are physically entering another person, whereas women are allowing another person to enter their body?

My feeling is that despite it being consensual, it must be so much more difficult to let your guard down and allow someone literally inside you as a woman. As a (pretty crap) metaphor, you would be comfortable poking someone in the ear, but maybe not so relaxed if someones finger was in yours.

Spoiler alert. I know the answers to this question are going to go horribly, controversially wrong but I'd prefer it if they didn't...

Yessir! I'm with Dream. I feel it is drastically different, especially the comfort level. I'd imagine at least! I've never been a man and never will be, so I of course can't say for absolute surety what it's like for them, but I do feel it is a lot more difficult and anxiety provoking to be a woman and have to let your guard down and trust someone to let them insert their foreign objects inside you lol. I find your ear metaphor extremely accurate! Interesting question! :)

@GlitzandGlamber thanks for your thoughts. It would be interesting to get views from people who have given and received penetrative sex because there's no way (yet) for either of us to experience it from the other person's point of view. But I know from my point of view I've always been very relaxed about the whole thing and it wasn't until I was older that I really thought about what a different experience it must be for the opposite sex.

@GeniUs I think you're right about the use of the word control. But I think when a woman is on top what she is controlling is the amount of control you have over her. Think about it from this perspective, you're in the final round of the world mud-wrestling championships with Al "Big Al" McGraw, eight times mud-wrestling champion of the world. Big Al has mounted you and he's got two fingers up your nose, so you roll him, now you're on top and you get to choose how deep his muddy fingers get. Now the control is shared.

Obviously again the metaphor doesn't cut it because sex is awesome and everyone knows that mud-wrestling with Big Al is not a fun day out. He plays dirty. In every way.

@penguinswon thanks man, I do a lot of ear poking in my spare time I figured it was similar :)

You need a GeniUs answer now where can we get one of those from...aha:
I think it's more who's on top they are the controller. I hate being underneath, I should allow it but I really don't like it.

@Sophia134 also simple and just as effective, thank you as well! :)

@DreamStreetStan simple but effective answer, thanks! :)
i think you've got it down. Excellent metaphor

@GeniUs but whatever the position, you're still at least two inches (which according to my schoolyard learning was how much you needed for penetration :) ) into someone. That's got to be invasive at least at the beginning of a relationship?
GeniUs · 56-60, M
Yes but when you have somebody's body weight pinning you, the volume of penetration seems small consolation! It's mighty disconcerting. If you haven't had a go try it, you'll start to get the idea.

I think (and I don't know if any women will agree with this) you're over estimating a penis, even a big one.
