Holding a grudge is on an internal and personal level, often based on hurt feelings that we’re not able to let go of. Holding someone accountable is based on values that helps us set boundaries and define correct behavior among others.

Holding a grudge means you will never forgive them and you judge them for a past problem never resolved.

Accountability means you want that person to understand that they are wrong and admit thier fault so you can feel some sort of pride for making them admit that.

A grudge doesn't go away if the person attempts to make amends.
Horace · M
Lack of accountability creates a grudge.
