Any gospel song sung by Elvis, really.
I'm not religious (I'm pagan) but as a young teen, when my mental health really settled in for a bad ride, listening to Elvis' gospel album every night helped me sleep. I still listen to it now and then when my anxiety is overwhelming.
I think it's because
1. He's been my favorite singer as long as I can remember
2. He's the only male rolemodel I had that didn't leave me (I know he wasn't actually there, but I always fpund comfort in his music)
3. His voice and passion when singing gospel songs felt calming, even tho I don't believe in the words themselves.

The only solo one of his that I like, great song and it was one of my ex's favourites, she often played it in her car and it takes me straight back to the Yorkshire Dales (where she lives) when I hear it.
One that means most to me is The Living Years by Mike & the Mechanics, not because it's a favourite song of mine but because it's as if it was written for me and my dad.

@RodneyTrotter1 I lost my dad six years ago and I need to credit this song with the reminder of the fleeting nature of things. So bitter sweet, there are so many songs I can't listen to any more for different reasons.

"Fields of God" by Eva Cassidy. She does it beautifully and died way too young. There are several songs and hymns that go straight to my heart.

I still have my father, but he’s in his 90s so…some of my earliest memories are of him singing to me and telling stories of his childhood. We talk on the phone for hours. This song reminds me of Pop, and I know it will be hard to listen to when he goes.

@ArtieKat I know it's difficult to pick just one, isn't it?

@NativePortlander1970 I'm so sorry. No mother should put anyone above their own children and their safety. I hope you grew to have some peace in your life.
