It's been around nearly a decade (oh my god, I feel old now). It wouldn't have lasted this long if it didn't provide people some level of value.
Granted, there are a sizeable number of creeps, fakes, and political nutjobs that keep popping up to ruin the mood, but with a little discernment and a healthy reliance on the block button, you can avoid them well enough
