Judging Kitty knows the score

Everyone is judgmental to a point, but that’s just human nature. However, we do not have to let it define us and I’m thankful I was raised better than that. Yes, I have my first impressions of everybody and they tend to be unfavorable in one way or another, but I give them a chance most of the time. Keyword: most. Not all of the time. If my gut instinct is telling me to avoid someone because they positively seem like bad news, I avoid them and have nothing to do with them. If I end up being wrong, I feel like a real jerk, but I can live that. What I can’t live with is not trusting my instincts for the millionth time and letting someone in only to realize I never should have, because my instincts are usually right.

With that, I would say I’m fairly open-minded and non-judgmental, but I feel I have good instincts when it comes to people. Especially since I have been betrayed by so-called friends time and time again and almost want to give up altogether and dismiss everyone as being the same, for my own sake.

I think people get judgmental and judging mixed up.
You have to judge some things, you could call it summing up the situation.
It's impossible not to judge as you make decisions everyday in what you'll tolerate and whom you'll interact with.
Setting up boundaries requires some judgment.
I judge some behaviors to be wrong because they are injurious to others.
An extreme example would be muder, I would judge the person to be an extremely dangerous individual, that's common sense.

I think of being judgmental as not knowing all the facts and still making assumptions, giving motivations that are not there, or being harsh about a person's personal appearance or quirks that don't harm anyone personally.

I judge those who wear flip flops and have dirty feet all the time. But that's about it.
Everyone judges to an extent, whether they admit it or not.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
Depends on the observed person or activity
Tarnished · 26-30, M
I judge my coworkers for their lack of effort.

Last I checked I was human soooo...very judgemental. I understand many people consider "judgemental" to be a negative word but consider what your life would be like if you couldn't judge your environment and the people in it.
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
Less so now than I was when younger but still pretty judgemental but also very forgiving and I mostly keep it to myself lol
sladejr · 56-60, M
I can size people up pretty quickly. I almost never change my judgement after the first impression
sladejr · 56-60, M
First instincts are almost always the best
StevetheSleeve · 31-35, M
I’m tempted to judge you just for asking that question
Jexie · 26-30, F
@StevetheSleeve I guess that answers my question lol, you are.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@Jexie you have judged him to be judgemental. Check.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
The core philosophy I try to follow is, "If you're not bothering me, I'm not going to bother you."
Notsimilarreally · 31-35, F
I catch myself occasionally over certain things but I'm by no means extreme
Very. Being judgmental is how we avoid making mistakes.
Jexie · 26-30, F

I try not to be because I hate overly judgmental people
Primnproper · 56-60, F

Depends on the situation. I may not choose to share my judgment, either.
