Nope. I get cranky when I lack sleep.
ArtieKat · M
@GunFinger Me too
In my 20s... Not now, I need at least 6 now
Being young it's possible .. But not so good for health.
AdaXI · T
Nah lucky if I could survive on 8 hours, lolz.
乂^◡^乂
helenS · 36-40, F
Maybe I could for a while but why would I want to? 😐
helenS · 36-40, F
@jackjjackson I learned earlier you are a very precise thinker. That may have to do with sleeping more than 9 hours 🌷
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Thanks. How sweet. My thoughts exactly about you 😀 @helenS

3 to 4 is how I currently exist
IronHamster · 56-60, M
I used to get severe bouts of insomnia. Been there and worse. No. Not gonna do it. I find about six and a half hours is my minimum, but I can do four for short periods.
Nope - I'd push everyone away I'd be so grumpy.

When I was a student, I would sometimes go a day or two on 4 hours sleep per night. But for longer than a day or two? No way.

And I would catch up on my lost sleep on the weekend.
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
@sladejr

No, they weren't doing a sleep study.

Not for long.
666Maggotz · F
No. I did that during beauty school because I went full time on top of working full time on 3rd shift. My mental and physical health deteriorated very fast. It was hard af to get through the 6 months of Esthetician classes.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
Survive, depends. But if you wanna live long enough, don't. Sleep at the right time is irreplaceable.

Our body needs rest. I'd call myself a hypocrite because I also don't usually get enough sleep. But I try to catch up the sleep I need when I get the chance.

My mom likes to remind me catching up on lost sleep is not enough. It's still different when you sleep on time and get enough hrs of sleep.
Xtendable · 46-50, M
Generally I sleep any where from three to five hours. At least once a week, I’ll stay awake instead of sleeping and then approximately one day out of ten I’ll get a solid 7-hr stretch
That was highschool. Often 3 hours.

Moving into the workforce, that number continued to drop.
4meAndyou · F
I have done so, but I am am so exhausted during the day that I fall asleep at my desk.
Adrift · 61-69, F
Back in my twenties I did. Sunday was a catch up on sleep day.
Not very well. I sometimes get less. But I can't keep it up for long.
HoraceGreenley · 61-69, M
After doing that for a couple of years this happened
SW-User
Survive, sure. But I think my mental health would take a nosedive. It already has, in part because I've been cutting down to 6 lol.
HumanEarth · F
As a aging farmer, I been doing it for decades
Primnproper · 56-60, F
For a while but it would soon catch up to me.
SW-User
Yeah but I don’t need to 🤣
I need my beauty sleep
bowman81 · M
For a while....but not steadily.
Punches · 46-50, F
I need eight.

What about those people who claim they were working two full time jobs, going to school, raising a family, etc.

Like yeah they were doing all that and surviving on maybe one hour sleep a day? Boy they must have super powers. 🙄
Repete · 70-79, M
@Punches try working around the tides to make as much money as you can before winter comes back while being a single parent. No super powers just a necessity . Now is better because I work when I want to not because I have to.
chillout17 · 31-35, M
Not ever night but do it more than I would like
You don't want to be around me when I only get 4 hours of sleep.
Yes. I have been.

Not for long…

Not for long
Repete · 70-79, M
Use to be up before sunrise everyday and midnight was usually an early night, but now I do that only a few times a year. About a month and a half from now will be one spell , love the spring.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Knew a guy like that once. He didn't survive beyond 30. Yet 4 hours was his max.

Yes, I have gone a couple of days without sleeping. Yet I as well slept the whole third day through.
DragonFruit · 61-69, M
Yes, as an attorney I'd go for long stretches of time with little sleep....but eventually I'd need a day to catch up by sleeping 8 or 10 hours.
Currently I do. That is the max I sleep after nights. On my days/ nights off, I sleep earlier and sleep in too.
SW-User
Did it daily for 5 years. I'm still sleep deprived years later, but I'm still alive and *mostly* functional.
Houdini · 56-60, M
Iv been doing it for years and years so I would say yes and I work 12 hours a day as well
Pinkstarburst · 51-55, F
Been doing it for the past two weeks. It’s survivable. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Not for long, but I did survive it when my kid was a baby.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
Not at this age. I did in my twenties & thirties though
If you nap later in the day. But it doesn't seem healthy.
ronisme1 · 61-69, M
Yes, i did it when i was working and in college
Gumbodidlo · 56-60, C
As long as the day is only 12 hours long, i could 🤔
kittee · 22-25

Wolffy · 56-60, M
Done it all my life 56 years now so sure
pdockal · 56-60, M
Probably as I'm only getting about 5.5 now
Morvoren · F
Yes but not for longer than a week.
I used to, but I was barely surviving, it took a toll on my health. Now that I’m retired, I try to get at least seven hours.
Yes, if I get some more during the day.
