It's another way of saying introduce yourself you could type whatever you want on there like your hobbies things about yourself. You could always type Fuck around and find out lol.

You can set up a message introduction on your DMs for everyone to read.If you have not done it you could be getting reminders.

it should be in play just before you message someone. mostly its used to tell everyone to f off preemptively.
