The first song I remember listening to was "The Wayward Wind" by Gogi Grant, in 1956. I was six and sick with the measles. I realized the words were about the music and the music was about the words and fit together. A big leap in my understanding and love of music.

The first song I remember listening to was The Yellow Rose of Texas. I was maybe 4. My older brother got a "record player" for Christmas and I think two 45s. One of them was TYROT. He must have played it 50 times that day. I don't remember what the other songs were.
