I actually thought he had a pretty good chance of becoming president because I knew how corrupt he was before he got into politics.

"You're Fired!" He had his own TV show, He owned the NJ Generals from the USFL, Real Estate Mogul and accomplished international businessman. He has always been very brash and forceful...that is why he has always been successful.
Didn't everyone?

I read the early warnings against electing him: that he considers himself a playboy and often cheats banks, businesses and the government.

Yes, for sure! Going to high school in Canada, we studied Donald Trump the alleged "businessman" in our sociology class in my second and third year of high school.

The point of studying Donald Trump, which began from the writings of his first autobiographies in the late 1980s, was to study how Americans were buying into the lies and deceit of an all-American circus con-man, but were not pushing back on him nor saying anything that denounced his fake wealth and fake successes in life.

Donald Trump therefore, was basically a typical American con artist who's path in life we were dissecting as a class of 30 students, to not only find out what made Donald Trump tick as a person, but to also try to figure out why Americans were taking this guy seriously based on what information was made publicly available to them at any local bookstore in the USA.

In the end, the only people who did not know who Donald Trump really was when he ran for President in 2016, were Americans.
