If a real life Godzilla came out of an ocean and started tearing up a city or just being seen for the first time

When in doubt, blame the government.

But it'd be interesting seeing all the kooky theories people come up with it. I can easily see aliens, religious doomsday, and/or foreign aggression being popular talking points.

I think my default assumption would be a science-gone-wrong scenario. Either way, I just hope we don't have a temperamental man-child of a President that holds off on military intervention just because the city or state Godzilla landed in didn't vote for him.

If that happened in America, Trump would declare it a democrat hoax and order his base to ignore it, and his base would faithfully obey, even as it smashed through their homes. Meanwhile, the Democrats would spend the next two years debating a plan of action and then write a strongly worded letter.
