If you went out to eat at a restaurant and somehow you forgot your wallet and couldn't pay

It's times like that that I'm thankful I know my visa card number by heart😔
This happened to me once. Someone else had my stuff and forgot my card, but I knew the number so they could type it in manually

I do not think there is much the restaurant or cops could really do.

I imagine in most cases the customer could just agree to come back and resolve the bill.

I am not the sort of person people mistrust, as a rule. I would have left my purse as a security deposit, and I would have left a piece of jewelry also, and I would have asked them to please hold them for me while I went home to get my wallet.

It depends down here. Id guess theyd want decent collateral. You could get beat up if the owners think you are pulling a fast one. Its a civil matter unless you have no intention to pay so not much the cops can do unfortunately

i did that and they were giving me time to go back home to get my money when a nice man offered to pay for my meal,😊

In my entire 55 2/3rd years of existence, I only forgot my wallet once, my late ex fiancee was rushing me out the door and I had changed jeans without transferring it, I have always been ocd about checking for everything before heading out the door.
