When I moved here 9 years ago, I was streaming everything. I didn't OWN a tv set. When I moved to this apartment building we were FORCED to pay for cable television. It's actually taken right out of our rent...and we can't opt out. The cost goes up and up and up every year for basic, and then channels are continually removed from basic service.
So I was going to be G-d'd if I paid for tv service without even owning a tv...so I had to go out and buy one.
If I could get rid of it, I definitely would.

Your landlord undoubtedly gets a generous kickback from the cable company for forcing this arrangement on the tenants. 🙄

@Thinkerbell It was some sort of deal where, when new tenants move in, they don't have to pay an installation fee. We are not allowed to have another company for ANY of our services because the building is wired with Comcast wiring, and they don't want their wiring disturbed by another company...supposedly.
